Updated Check-in Procedure and Safety Protocol

Based on Governor Kemp's Executive Orders 03.14.20.01m 04.08.20.02, 04.30.20.01, 05.28.20.01, we implement the following procedures:

When arriving to the Studio:

  1. Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of class.
  2. As long as weather permits, our check-in procedures will happen in front of the studio in the fresh air. If weather does not permit, we will check one person in at a time, maintaining a safe distance when possible.
  3. Before you get out of your car, please put on your face shield/mask. If you forget yours, we will have basic medical grade masks for sale, starting at $1.99. We will carry some sparkly bellydance-y options as well.
  4. For now, you will be required to wear a face shield or mask in order to attend classes and during your time entering/leaving the studio. The teacher & assistants will also be wearing them.
  5. At check in, you will have your temperature taken with a touchless forehead thermometer. If your temperature is higher than 100.4 you will unfortunately not be able to stay for class.
(We will transfer your payment to a future class or issue a refund, whichever you prefer)
  6. You will need to sign an insurance release form when coming in the 1st time. If you’d like to print it and sign in ahead of time, we can send it to you via e-mail. Call or email us for the form.
  7. We will have you disinfect your hands w/ hand sanitizer that we provide before heading into the studio & again directly after class. We will have hand sanitizer stationed throughout the studio if you want to disinfect your hands in between.
  8. Where feasible, we will prop the door open and/or have the door opened for you so that you don’t have to touch anything but your own dance bag, shoes & sash after you sanitize your hands.
  9. If you need to use the restroom, please wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with antibacterial soap that we will provide before exiting the restroom. We will provide a catchy tune for you to sing while you wash.
  10. While we will be excepting credit cards & cash at the studio for class & merchandise, we do definitely encourage you to pay online before you come. It’s easy and it’s safer.

Loaning Out Props, Bottled Water & Lost & Found Items

  1. For now we will not be renting out “loaner sashes” or loaning out props. If you want a coin sash, you will need to pick one out & buy it (hopefully from us!). The same will be true of all other props (zills, veils, fanveils, canes, etc).
  2. We will have coin sashes, dance outfits & all props for sale before & after class. You can even buy them from us online & take delivery at the studio when you arrive.
  3. For now, per CDC guidelines, we will not allow people to share or lend out props or coin sashes.
  4. We will have bottled water available for purchase, but do encourage you to bring your own water bottle, which you fill at home.
  5. And, speaking of water bottles…we will no longer have a lost & found, per recommendation from the CDC. If you leave something like say… a water bottle, it will be thrown away after class. Sorry!

During Class & After Class

  1. If we have more than 6 students in a course, we will mark off spots for each student. Every dancer will have her spot & will need to stay in her designated area. With less than 6 it will be easy to maintain a large distance between each person, as all of the studios are BIG roomy wide open spaces w/ tall ceilings & lots of ventilation.
  2.  Where possible, we will be opening up the windows & doors at the Studios (weather permitting)

Cleaning Procedures

I was a lover of bleach, Clorox wipes & Lysol-ing everything long before this. You can rest assured that we are coming at all frequently touch surfaces w/ a disinfecting vengeance!
We will be cleaning the restrooms & disinfecting the light switches, door handles, counters, table tops, stereo equipment, and all other frequently touched objects and surfaces before we open the doors each evening for class & after we close as an extra measure, as we like to leave our space clean for the next teacher & group of students. Watch out germs, because we’re coming for you!

While we welcome you back into the studio, we want you to feel and to be safe. We also want you to have a great time, escape life for an hour and let yourself be free. We will adjust our policies as things change. Belly dancers are extremely adaptive, environmentally flexible little creatures. We have to be. This time & these circumstances will be no different. We got this! Now let’s dance & have some fun!
